Jake Glaser of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation was here to get all 85 of our dancers pumped up and ready to begin their 28-hour-long journey through dance marathon. After a few stretches, a team cheering competition, and a lesson in this year's amazing line dance they were all set! CUDM 9 was on!
Please feel free to post comments, shout-outs, and responses to dancer posts here. Stay tuned for the next 28 hours and we guarantee we'll have something great for you to look at here!

ReplyDeleteBrooke, Sophomore, The Green Team (Go Verde!):
ReplyDeleteDance Marathon is a blast! Everyone is in high spirits- dancing (obviously), playing Rockband, battling in DDR, making posters, playing with bats and balls, and lots of other fun things. There have been multiple performances by dance groups that are so awesome and entertaining! Everyone is really excited to be here FTK, for the kids. And a shout out to my Mom. I love you!
Maddy Joseph -- Bet you thought I was not tech savvy enough to post something on a blog. Ha ha! Wish I could actually see you doing the amazing line dance. That would be quite something! Love you and good luck!
ReplyDeleteSarah. do you believe I figured this out...how to blog....IT ROCKS!!!!.
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU AND KEEP THOSE FEET MOVING IN THE LINE DANCE!!
Yo, Bums! I'm not gonna ask you if you think it's so cool that I figured out how to use this blog like everyone else did... because I know it's EXPECTED!!! Hope you're holding up OK this year, since you were busy tango'ing in BA during last year's marathon. Rock that banghra when it kicks in -- show 'em the moves they've never seen on the N. Shore. Lots of love and encouragement (keep listening ever so closely to the rhythms of your bod!).
ReplyDeleteJohn, Freshman, The Blue Team, (Go Billy Elliots!)
ReplyDeleteSo far the dance marathon has been great! Yet, I find myself wondering when we will be arriving at base camp. We haven’t been supplied oxygen tanks. Shoe leather is less than filling, and I am worried that my sweater won’t keep me warm through the night. I turned off the clock on my phone, and the clock is off on this computer so I can’t see what time it is. God, I hope it’s Sunday. I think I just heard a yeti, but it could also be the sound of my stomach eating itself.
Hey Gillian, and Hey All - Are we human, or are we Dancer?? Much love, Gillian's dad
ReplyDeleteOk Mary Martha-here's some corny jokes to keep you going. Found the oldie but goodie "The Bailey School Kids Joke Book" by D. Burr(Scholastic 1996) Remember the punchlines?
ReplyDelete"What do you get when you cross a computer with an elephant?....A five-ton know-it-all"
"What is a mummy after it is 2,000 years old?...
Two thousand and one."
"Where do burgers dance?... At a meatball."
Yeah Roses!
ReplyDeleteI know that colds, coughs and fatique will not let you break your stride! Dance for me, dance for Rach, dance for all the kids!
Hee Hee
Megan, Sophomore, Team Yellow (Yes, we all live in a Yellow Submarine…)
ReplyDeleteFTK!!! I’m going to try to be a little witty, but I’m not sure how well that’s going to work out… It’s been a while. So far, the marathon has been great! A couple of line dances, some great music—we just had what I assume was ‘90s hour and before that a ‘60s hour. There are so many people here, many more than last year. As a veteran, I thought “Hey! This is going to be a piece of cake, I survived last year I can do it again.” Alas, while I think I will make it, I’m already physically breaking a bit… Now I just have to wait for the next food break… Hi mom! (And sara and lyly and tequila!!!) Ooooh “Human” by the Killers just came on- gotta boogie!
GO BETTA GAMMA GALS!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSarah........DANCE FOR BUBBA!!!!!!!!!! XOXOXOXOXO Momma Luche
ReplyDeleteYES WE CAN !!!
